Day 13. Clean/Polish Kitchen Appliances

Day 13 of “A 30 Day Guide to Spring Cleaning“.

Alright, lets talk about cleaning and polishing our kitchen appliances. This is a pretty quick cleaning task if you use the right cleaning products, and after all, it is mothers day. So let’s make this one quick!

What to clean:

  • Outside of stove
  • Outside of refrigerator
  • Outside of microwave
  • Outside of dishwasher
  • Any other kitchen appliances you may have

Supplies needed:

Cleaning and Polishing Your Appliances

These steps work for any kind of appliances, although I will say please be conscious if you have brushed stainless steel as a lot of different cleaners are harmful for brushed stainless steel. Even the cleaning paste can be harmful to brushed stainless steel, you will need to clean following the grain of the brushing on your appliance.

Step 1: Clean your appliance using the envirocloth and cleaning paste. Wet down your envirocloth, swipe it over your cleaning paste to get the paste onto the cloth, and start cleaning you appliance. If your appliance is not covered in stuck on debris or dirty fingerprints, you can use the envirocloth with just water and omit the cleaning paste. **If you have brushed stainless steel wipe with the direction of the grain.**

Step 2: If you used the cleaning paste, fold the envirocloth to a side without the cleaning paste and wipe over the area again to rinse off the paste.

Step 3: While the surface is still wet, use your polishing/window cloth to dry the area thoroughly. Go with the grain on brushed stainless steel. If there are any streaks left, just dry over that area again with a little more pressure using the polishing/window cloth.

Step 4: Repeat for all appliances.

That’s it!!!! You are done, this will remove all your dirt, grime, debris, streaks, marks, ANYTHING on your surface. The nice part is, the cleaning paste will even get rid of any hard water stains from water and ice dispensers. This stuff is amazing and does not disappoint! Check out my before and after’s below!

Using Other Cleaners

If you are using vinegar, you can follow the same steps above, but instead of the cleaning paste use soap and water. If fingerprints or streaks remain, you can use vinegar or rubbing alcohol and a microfiber cloth to work out the fingerprints and streaks. Dry it with a microfiber towel afterwards.

Using the turtle wax after cleaning is an optional addition. You can apply this with a microfiber cloth following the application instructions on the back. This polish can be used as a “protectant” from fingerprints and streaking, and is entirely optional!

This cleaning paste is so good, it even get’s rid of the flip flops inside your stove!
This cleaning paste is so good, it even gets rid of the clutter from your fridge doors!
This cleaning paste is so good, it will empty your dishwasher for you!

**Note: these captions are sarcasm, please do not think the cleaning paste will throw out clutter or empty your dishwasher. You will be utterly disappointed.
