Do you have lots of DVD’s or Blu-ray’s that you don’t want to get rid of, but are cluttering your space and look messy? I have a great way to minimize the space taken up by your DVD’s and Blu-ray’s.
Are you looking for DVD storage or organization solutions? A lot of people are opting out of DVDs and Blu-ray’s more recently due to the ability to get movies on smart TV’s through many different platforms. If you are like me and my husband, you likely have a whole collection of movies that you don’t want to get rid of, but they are taking up precious space where you could put other things!
Even if you have an entertainment stand, these still tend to always be disorganized and messy, or they are taking up most of the storage in your entertainment stand that could be used for other purposes. I want to show you this magical trick for DVD storage and organization that will free up your space and brighten your day.
I made this change over quite a while ago to declutter our entertainment stand, and free up a TON of space!! I don’t have any before pictures, but I did have a few DVDs that we found along the way, or have gotten as presents, that I was able to add into this collection today.
This simple idea of organizing your DVD’s and Blu-Ray’s will make your space so much happier, cleaner, and more inviting!

Step 1.
Gather all of your DVD’s and Blu-Ray’s into one easy working space.
Step 2.
Determine how many sleeves you will need to fit all your DVD’s. I did each DVD in a separate sleeve, unless they came together in one box.
Step 3.
Open the DVD case all the way, reach into the plastic lining and gently remove the paper cover inside.
Step 4.
Once you have your paper cover removed, fold it in half. Remove the DVD disc holder inside the DVD sleeve, and place your paper cover inside the sleeve.
Step 5.
Place your DVD inside the open slot in the disc holder. Place this disc holder, with the DVD, inside the paper cover within the DVD sleeve. Your paper cover should be visible on the front and back, with your DVD in the holder in the middle of the cover.
Step 6.
Repeat steps 3 – 5 with all DVD’s and Blu-Ray’s until all have been transferred into the DVD sleeves.
Step 7.
Place the DVD sleeves into your storage baskets and find a wonderful place to put them! Your pretty baskets can sit right on an open shelf and look wonderful!
Step 8.
Enjoy all the free space you have just created, and start planning fun decorations to replace your DVD disaster.

I don’t have as many DVDs as I used to but putting them in an album or special sleeves does help cut down on the space they consume.
That’s a great way of storing them and good space saving ideas. Thanks for linking with #pocolo
