This quick and easy cheater spaghetti recipe has great flavor, and it’s super easy to throw together on a week night. You will want to save this to use again and again.
What I absolutely love about this quick and easy cheater spaghetti recipe is that it tastes more homemade than anything, but it’s so easy to make! It’s a cheater recipe, because you are going to start with an already made sauce. That’s what makes it so simple and so easy to make!
This is the spaghetti that my family absolutely adores, and it’s so easy to throw together when we are short on time and looking for something easy. And let’s be honest, with young kids or kids in sports, quick and easy is a life saver!

Ingredients
- Your favorite spaghetti sauce (this Bertolli sauce is my favorite to start with)
- Spaghetti Pasta
- Ground Beef
- Onion
- Diced Tomatoes (I like to use the Hunt’s brand with garlic, oregano and basil)
- Garlic Powder
- Ground Coriander
- Italian Seasoning
- Basil
- Sugar (the sugar cuts the acidity of the tomato sauce so I can eat this without heartburn or acid reflux)
- Salt & Pepper

How to Make Mom’s Quick and Easy Cheater Spaghetti Recipe
I am not going to spend a lot of time on steps here, because it’s such a simple meal. This is really easy to make!
Step 1
Dice your onion and start cooking and crumbling your ground beef and onion together. Ground beef usually takes between 5-10 minutes to cook on medium-high heat. Drain the grease.
Step 2
Boil your water for your pasta, and cook your pasta according to the instructions. While your pasta is cooking, add your preferred spaghetti sauce to the pan with the ground beef and onion. Drain your diced tomatoes and add these to the sauce. After the tomatoes, add in all the seasonings. Place this on medium-low heat and place a lid over it. Allow this to cook, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes.
Pro tip: add in very finely chopped/minced carrots, celery, or bell peppers to sneak some veggies into your kids diet!
Step 3
Once your pasta has cooked, drain the water. Add butter (use real butter) to the pasta and stir it in until the pasta is all coated.
Step 4
Plate your pasta, top it with the meat sauce and some parmesan cheese. Enjoy your spaghetti!
