Ingredients

  • Frozen whole green beans
  • Vidalia/Sweet Onion
  • Fresh Garlic
  • Bacon
  • Seasoned Salt
  • Butter
  • Salt & Pepper

How To Make Southern Green Beans with Bacon

Step 1

Prepare all of your ingredients before you start cooking. Cut your onion into slices. Peel your garlic cloves and slice the garlic as well. Cut your bacon into small pieces.

Step 2

Add your bacon to a pan that has a lid. Cook on medium-high heat until the bacon just starts to slightly brown in some spots. This will take about 5 minutes.

Step 3

Add your green beans, onion, and garlic to the pan with the bacon. Do not drain the bacon grease, this will be used to cook the dish. Add your seasoned salt, salt and pepper. Place the lid on and allow this to cook for about 5-8 minutes on medium-high heat with the lid on.

Step 4

Remove the lid and allow your dish to cook on medium-high for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add in a little extra butter if your food starts to stick to the bottom of the pan, or get dry (1 TBSP at a time as needed).

Then enjoy your wonderful side dish with your meal!
