This super juicy, flavorful and tender grilled beef roast will take your dinner to a new level with ease.
This super easy and delicious grilled beef roast is perfect for a great meal. You don’t have to watch it much. For the most part, this is a put it together and leave it type meal until the roast is done, which I love! We have a wood pellet grill, but you can do this on any grill.
We got a Pit Boss Wood Pellet Grill paid link and I absolutely love it. I love the temperature control, the option to smoke or grill, the ease of indirect heat, and the flavor that our grilled food has! I would highly recommend a pellet grill to anyone!

I love making dinners like this because it leaves the options open for sides to go along with it. With this particular roast, we paired it with parmesan oven roasted potatoes and asparagus. It was fantastic! This roast is great for dinner, but it’s also wonderful for roast beef sandwiches as well!

Step 1
Pat your roast dry with paper towel and coat it all over with olive oil. Use the dry rub and coat the roast on all sides. Make sure to put pressure on the rub so it works it’s way into the roast, pressing the larger pieces in where needed. Set it aside at room temperature while you prepare you grill.
Step 2
Set your grill to 350 F. We use a combination of different wood pellets, it’s named “competition blend”. This gives a really nice smoky flavor to the meat, whether you smoke it or not. Once your grill is up to temp, place the beef roast on indirection heat.
For wood pellet grills, this means you want to have the grate to your flame closed.
For gas grills, place it on the upper shelf to keep it from the direct flames.
Note: make sure to place your roast fat side up, this way the juices from the fat cooking run down and absorb more into the roast itself.
Allow your roast to cook, keeping the temperature between 300°F and 350°F as best as possible. Allow your roast to cook between 1.5 to 2 hours. Our roast was only a little over 2 lbs, and it was done in about 1 hour. Make sure to use a thermometer to help keep an eye on the temperature while it’s cooking.

Step 3
Once your roast has completed cooking, wrap it tightly in aluminum foil immediately after removing from the grill.
We prefer to use the Heavy Duty Aluminum Foil, especially if we are using it keep moisture or juices in. It doesn’t rip and tear as easily as the regular aluminum foil does.
After you have wrapped your roast in foil, allow it to sit for about 10 – 15 minutes. This will allow the roast to reabsorb the juices it may have lost after removing it from the grill.
Unwrap your beef roast after the 10-15 minutes, and cut it into slices, cutting against the grain of the roast for the most tender cuts.
